Yes, you can have a delicious slow-cooked beef, barley and veggie dish that’s been made with love (by a professional chef) while out on your next adventure!
Imagine getting back to your overnight campsite and being able to savour the aroma of a rich beef dinner without having to do anything more than soak and heat your meal.
This meal is a firm favourite amongst hikers and campers after a long day in the outdoors. Expect a combination of meat, vegetables and comforting barley grain, slow simmered with onion.
And if you want to buff up your beef dish choose a little something extra to do just that! Each main meal also comes with a salt and pepper sachet inside the cook-in bag.

A firm and hearty favourite – filling and delicious after a full day of walking.

What an incredible meal to have after a long hike – it’s incredible that this sort of food actually exists. I remember days of Toppers and smash. Thank goodness for innovation and progress. 🙂

Best food I’ve ever tasted oh and hi to the trailfood team!

Saved this one for the last dinner on our 3 day hike – it did not disappoint!! Delicious and meaty – highly recommend this option. Top tip – A friend added a little red wine in before adding the boiling water!
Marc –
Very tasty meal. The barley was slightly too chewy, but I think with a little bit of a longer soak it would be fine. Highly recommended!
Donne –
Taste was great but I could have let it soak a bit longer, meat was a bit tough – I was too hungry to let it rest a bit longer.

I wondered how a dehydrated version of a poitjie was going to reconstitute itself into something as good as straight-off-the-fire. This does. Its delicious.
It needs to soak perhaps slightly longer than expected, but once I realised this the next time it was on my menu I put hot water into it and left it to soak (for about 20 mins) while I did other things. Came out perfectly. Highly recommend it.

My dad that is 77 years old enjoyed this as a 1st time hiker on a tough 8 day trail. Absolutely delicious and he was able to get the calories digested

I went hiking for 9 days through the Italian dolomites. This is a good meal. Not as much flavour as the curry dishes but still tasty.

Now this is what I call a meal, we had this meal on our Star gazing hike and was very cold. The flavor of this meal is just something else it was very tasty and was not hungry during the night 10/10
